Session Description: This workshop will provide an overview of Samaritan Daytop Village's innovative and integrated Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant funded treatment model, Maximizing Opportunities for Mother Success Program. This program is focused on enhancing its well-established mother and child residential program by transforming the existing individualized residential substance use disorder treatment model to a family systems driven substance use disorder treatment model. Attendees will be provided an overview of a trauma-informed family systems model in an existent mother and child program and learn how SAMHSA grant funded services were implemented, review targeted interventions and expected outcomes as well as receive guidance on program implementation barriers and possible strategies to overcome them. Attendees will learn concrete strategies to improve family & support network engagement to better support their service recipients in sustaining long term substance use disorder and mental health disorder recovery efforts.
