Session Description: This presentation provides the opportunity to explore what is Art Therapy and understanding of how art mediums can interact different with our body, mind, and emotions. Participants at this presentation will hear first hand stories on how Art Therapy with traditional treatment processes aided the recovery processes and broke down the occasional resistance. Participants in the presentation will also get to engage with first-hand experiences on how Art Therapy can aid our clients through the journey of recovery thanks to the ability of being provided a safe place for creativity. Participants will hear about how releasing the power of the unconscious and breaking the boundaries of overpowering emotions and words can help the clients dive deeper into a world of unknowns, face their fears, and possibly even better understand who they could be without their addictive personalities.
