Deborah (“Deb”) Kuzmin, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Executive Director at Origins Behavioral Health, received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons College School of Social Work in 2001 and has worked with people who struggle with substance use and mental health conditions since 1996. In 2007, Deb trained at The Harvard School of Medicine’s Division on Addiction and was certified as an addiction specialist. She has worked as a crisis hotline volunteer, discharge planner, therapist, director of case management and clinical supervisor for the past 20 years.
From 1996 through present time, she has always worked in some direct therapy or supervisory capacity with adults struggling with substance use. Whether it was in an outpatient setting, day program or residential treatment facility, Deb’s programs have helped thousands of people recovery from substance use conditions.
Her specialty includes working with clients who have had multiple treatment attempts and have struggled to find their own intrinsic motivation for change. Currently Deb works as the Executive Director for Origins Behavioral Health where she is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of all patients in all stages of care at the Florida campuses. Deb has direct responsibility for the supervision of all programs within the Florida Origins campuses and continues to dedicate herself to teaching and modeling best practices for the staff when working with individual who struggle with the chronic and life threatening effects of both mental health and substance use conditions.
