Aaron Olson CMHC, SUDC, CCFP has been working in the behavioral health field for the past 28 years and possesses a wide range of experience in the following areas: substance use disorder, serious and persistent mental illness, juvenile corrections, clinical supervision. This experience has taken place in both outpatient and residential settings. In his work as a clinical supervisor, Aaron noticed that the combined impact of the pandemic, increased socio-cultural tension, and stresses associated with behavioral health practice were resulting in increased physiological, emotional, and spiritual consequences on supervisees. This motivated his efforts to identify and provide early intervention to colleagues beginning to experience the impact of these conditions. These early interventions have supported clinicians to maintain high level of clinical practice while maintaining their own well-being.
