Butch was born and raised in Jackson Tennessee. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Lambuth University in sociology/psychology he went on to receive his MBA from Union University with a focus in Organizational Behavior. Butch began his counseling career 1989 while working for the state’s first Intensive Outpatient Programs at the Jackson Counseling Center in Jackson, TN. His career path continued as the Director of The Recovery Unit in Bolivar, TN and The Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism. Butch additionally developed two pilot addiction programs in the greater West Tennessee area. Butch maintained a private practice specializing in family of origin work with addicted populations and facilitated the Impaired Professionals Group for 12 years with Dr. Carolyn West-Willette. In 2006 Butch was named Regional Outreach Coordinator for Cumberland Heights in Jackson. In 2013, he became a member of the Executive Leadership Team as Chief Clinical Officer and moved to Chief Operations officer in 2015. In 2022, he accepted the role as Executive Director at The Bridge to Recovery. In recovery since 1986, Butch is also a State Licensed and Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor since 1992. He is married and loves to spend time with his wife, children and two dogs.
